1. The Brief: The Introduction
You fill out a brief questionnaire that will help me learn about your goals and avoid future road bumps by asking any relevant and/or design-specific questions about the project, goals and objectives.
2. Research: Not for writing essays
This is where I spend time doing research on your target audience and competitors. Taking a look at how and what is successful in other brands and how can this project fit accordingly.
3. Brainstorm: It starts with a piece of paper & a pen
My process starts with a piece of paper & a pen. I put on some smooth jazz and any words that come into my mind, I write down. I get inspiration from everywhere and I collect images. If it's a physical product I love to sample it to get a feel for the product and get inspiration from it. Then I put my own unique spin on it. Finally, I explore lettering & type treatments with ideas and design decisions based on the goals you have and the research I did.
4. KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid
I present two or three of the best concepts I created to present to you.exploration and fine-tuning. I create a final version of the design based on your feedback!
5. Paper to Digital to Final Art
The final sketch is scanned and traced using vector-based software. This is also where I make any last minute adjustments based on your feedback. The artwork is then digitally traced and I explore different color treatments and how it will be applied. Once you sign off the final artwork is supplied along with a presentation documenting the creative process and every design decision that was made along the way.
